I have genuinely searched this out as best i could before trying to ask for someone else's time/input. I have had to admit defeat in searching this out so I'm looking for a little guidance please.
I have a dead Samsung ms25, flashed with ixtreme 1.4 with a backup of the orignial FW and the hacked FW.
The new drive to replace the dead samsung ms25 is a Hitachi 47D. I would have abolsutely no problems in straight flash of the new Hitachi, it's jut the key aspect that I'm a little unsure of.
Would one of you guys with a bit more know how, please outline the process for me please. I'm confident in cracking this with a little help, it's really just the order of the steps that I'm unsure with in getting the key from the dead ms25 to the new 47D.
Backup, Flash, insert key etc, etc is the bit I'm not to confident with.
My main query is purely the process - I'm happy to do all that is required without any need for further support, if someone can simply detail the steps and more importantly the correct order.
you should be able to use firmware tool box to flash the new hitachi drive as a spoofed ms25 drive. if memory serves correctly, once you start flashing the hitachi, it will pop up a box where you can select any drive you want to be spoofed as. hopefully someone else will either confirm this or say that im completely wrong on this, lol.
Thanks for the reply.....
I'm ok with this in the main, FW Toolbox etc.
The bit that still puzzles me is at what stage i get the new Hitachi back to ixtreme???? Is that the last step or will i have taken care of this earlier with one of the previous steps??
Assuming it's at the end, do i use the ixtreme for hitachi or samsung seeing as it would hopefully be spoofed to hitachi.
once you spoof the drive it will read as if it was a samsung drive, so i would think you would flash it with iextreme for samsung drives. hopefully someone else will come along and make sure im telling you correctly, bc i have yet to spoof a drive so im just going off of what i've read and seen with FWTB.
