The only problem I got now is the Verbatim DVD+R DL. I bought a pack of 50 and so far I have used about 20 of them and have only got about 10 backups made. I have a pack made from INDIA and not SINGAPORE where I here thats where they are better from. Never really looked @ where they were made before until I started getting this failure rate.

Anyone having this problem. I am also using XBC 2.7v(always used this never had a problem w/burning till now)

the only other thing i could think of would be a bad rip. have you ever tried any other media?

I agree, try other media. I am a strong promoter of using Schtrom. It works amazing for me, but there is nothing wrong with XBC and it wouldn't cause coasters, because it works great for so many other people.

Maybe try schtrom, just to eliminate a possible source of the problem and then possibly try diff media like homesick said

does Schtrom Rip the game to my comp and also burn it. Never had to use that.

I'm just putting 2+2 together. I read in another thread that you just got Merc2. If you happened to download a backup of this game and it's the one which is giving you a problem, there is a bad release on the web. The game freezes after the first box drop.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Schtrom rips the game to your hard drive, but doesn't burn it. You can use clonecd or imgburn to burn the ripped game though. It's really easy. Just select the .dvd file and either program will be able to burn it
