Hey everyone, im a full newbie so please bear with me as i try to explain this prob. i have searched and not found this problem, so im gonna try my luck here.

i am capturing my vid in Pro Director Pro and it captures it as a mpg. and it plays all good everywhere.

once in PP, the file plays fine in teh monitor section but once it is on the timeline and the sequence 1 timeline monitor thing, it goes a little funky. by funky, i mean doesnt run smooth and every second or so repeats 2 - 3 frames for a second or two.

it does this to both audio and video and if its any help - the sound is akin to a scratched audio cd that is stuck on a track.

then if i export the file - it takes that through onto the finished avi. so any playback on mediaplayer or whathave u has that problem as well.

has anyone else experienced this? thanks for any help u may have.

Your Whole Method seems Extremely Flawed...If your Target Format is AVI then Why are you captureing to Mpeg?? because Mpeg is a Very Lossy Format meaning when you capture to Mpeg you Loose a Lot of the Video Imformation through Compression ,You should be Captureing to a Low Compression AVI format Useing something simple Like Virtual-Dub or Virtual VCR and use the HuffyUV Codec because it is a Lossless codec so the Files to capture useing this Codec will be of the Highest Quality that your Capture Device can Produce because there is absolutly no Loss of Quality through compression...Then after Captureing to AVI useing the HuffYUV Codec you can load that File into Premier Pro and do your Editing and Render to AVI useing whatever codec you choose..Make sure your Project setting Conform to the Stats of your Captured File , Especially the Frame rate....
