ok so my modchip, d2pro9, arrived so i tried to mod it last night.
i watched some video tutorials on opening wii so i followed it exactly and didn't have any trouble.
then i clipped d2pro9 on, put everything back together, then tested it.
when i powered it on, it made some weird noise.. not loud.. but weird.
then i tried to put my dvd inside, but it wouldn't accept it.. dvd won't go in.
so i had to open it again.. and tested the chip with wii open... when i watched online video, the chip turns on the red light, then changes to blue.
but mine stayed on red... so i guess the chip is defective?
and while i tried to figure out what i was wrong, i messed up the screw holes by trying to screw it too hard (i thought that was the problem.. not tight enough).
so my wii was messed up and i was so pissed.. i bought this like 5 days ago.
then i thought to myself, why don't i just return it? if they don't accept, it's still better than doing nothing.
so i went to the store and a woman opened the box, and just inspected it for like 20 seconds.
and i got the full refund... lol.. i was so relieved.
it's weird tho.. i thought if you take off all the rubber paddings and stickers and open the wii, your warranty is void.
but i guess not... because they took it back and refuned the full amount.

now i'm scared to buy another wii.. i am not a mod noob because i've modded other consoles before.. and this was the first time something went horribly wrong.

but i still plan to buy another wii.. at a different store so if i mess it up again, i can just return it again.

and what do i do with my DOA chip? i got it from modchipcentral.

the plastic screw holes were like completely busted open so that part was moving inside wii.. i couldn't tighten it or fasten it.
i'm kinda worried because the store might call me and try to catch me if they find out about this.

I feel sorry for the next guy that gets your defective Wii. More then likely the store will probably put it back on the shelf.

Then some honest person will buy it and be stuck with a defective Wii. Then if the Wii ever needs service the big N will tell them their warranty was voided because it had been opened.

Not a smart move on your part.

I defiantly will not be helping you out since you clearly have no concern for the next guy.

it's not like the 360, where microsoft will fix the system.

you should've tried to sell it to someone else, who can fix it.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

just an update...
wow you won't believe this.
so i returned the first wii to futureshop and got the refund.
then i bought the second wii from bestbuy.
and i took out the wii clip and just tried to solder the d2pro9 myself.
and let me tell you, it didn't go well.
my soldering tip was kinda messed up but i proceeded anyway because i had a whole bunch of games sitting there just waiting, so i couldn't wait.
and i totally f'ed up... even after i took out the chip, it won't even play the original games.
so i took it right back to bestbuy and got the full refund again.. damn...
i think i will buy the third wii from sears or costco.. they also got 'no questions asked' return policy within 14 days or something.
i think i will have to go through at least 4~5 wii's until i get a working modded wii... damn..
i just wanna get this over with so i can finally play some damn games..
anyway nintendo should really put some 'warranty void' stickers on wii's...

your an idiot just go give it to someone else..anyways you will get caught, when you return an item it automatically goes back to the company in this case nintendo and they inspect it, try to fix and if they fix they sell it back.
