Hy I am and old player, I still have my fat PSP from long time ago, I just bought a FAKE memory stick pro duo of 8gb, it is 7762 MB in size and shows up as unknown, it works perfectly, but with some CSOs it runs really slow, so I remembered a long time ago someone saying that there was a formatting process that could accelarate FAKE memory stick... can someone help me out and give me the way to format it so it works a bit faster... thanks in advance

is there a way to make an unknown memory stick become magicgate supported or supported on the PSP, by the way I am running 4.01 m33-2 thanks.

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

a fakes a fake no matter what you do it will never run like a real pro duo

the best thing to do to speed any fake up is to do these dollowing things

1. format to FAT32
2. make the psp cpu 333mhz
3. make any game a iso as cso are compressed so it has to uncompress them first

thats about it for speeding them up

also i found that 4.01m33 is slower than any other m33 version when loading iso and cso files.

fat32 is standard format. you want fat.

and there is no way to make it magicgate supported, unless you return it, and get a real one from the store.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd

got a whole lot more to list . . .

So what is "magic gate"? Is it technically different, or is it just faster? My "unsupported" (aka fake) stick seems to find the first 2-4 games I put on it, but not the rest.

the fake part of your stick is likely its size... you said it was an "8gb" stick ... its probably a much smaller stick thats been fiddled with to appear like its 8gb...

you say the first 2-4 games work well see how much space they take up and you'll know what the REAL size of the card is ... perhaps 1gb or 2gb

I will be honest, it does fit 7GB of games on it, I have Clank Secret Agent, Midnight Club, like 1gb of music, God of War and a bunch of other games on it and I still had like 1gb left... so the size is not fake, but it says unsupported on the information and when playing games like GTA and Midnight CLub, it lags on me, they are CSO, but with ISO games it works great, I will try those FAT formatting that you mentioned, I remembered something like this happened when 4gb fakes came out a long time ago... XD By the way $30 for a Fake that works good is a good price to pay, Dont you think?

just see how long it lasts for :)

it'll likely start to fall apart a bit

do games over 1gb stutter?

Mate, I seem to remember reading an article from Dark Alex saying that he has come up with a patch to fix those 8gb MS that was causing the PSP not recognizing it or slowing them down. Something.

I think its worth a look.

Just might help.
