Final Fantasy 8 PSX-PSP compatibility?

I have bought and played the original PSX game, and now I have downloaded a PSP rip over torrent. I want to get it working on my PSP but it crashes during the Disc 2 battle (Galbadia-Balamb) where Squall is fighting some Galbadian soldiers in the air after saving Rinoa from a cliff. The game works perfectly at Disc 1 and the latter part of Disc 2 before that scene. Unfortunately, I couldn't proceed with the game after that. I have custom firmware 4.01 M33-2 and have popsloader installed. Could you let me know what popsloader version can I get this game working?

theres a link someware with all the pops loader files in it if you dont have it try find that and just try a diffrent pops untill you get past the battle then switch back i had this problem with the legend of dragoon allways stalling when changing into dragoon and in boss battles on 4.01m33-2 so i just beat the bosses if it crashed on old pops and switch back

good luck i know ff8 has some problems on pops but is should go sweet enuff to finsh :)

Thanks for the help... :) I tested this one out on a PC Emulator (EPSXE) and had the same crash at disc 2. This is probably due to a bad rip. :) I'll just find another copy of the game.
