i have downloaded several games and half of them say that i need to update i am running latest firmware on my d2pro so obviously i dont.

is this just the downloaded game if so does anyone know weres the best place to download them. i use nzb sites more than anything

Wii firmware and modchip firmware are completely unrelated, so obviously you do need to update.

So long as the game is from the same region as your wii you can safely let it update without fear of messing anything up. Never allow an update from an out-of-region game or you could brick the wii.

Or, if possible, you could connect the wii to the internet and update it that way.

ive got the latest firmware(ver.3.3E). my original tiger woods 09 works fine but my copy says i need to update then wont let me update same for worms

It sounds like you have out of region backups then. A game with an update checks for the specific region's firmware when checking to see if an update is necessary.

Basically, if you have a US version of tiger woods then it looks for firmware 3.2u or any later firmware when it does the update check. Since you have a PAL wii the game doesn't see what it is looking for, which is any u firmware. It doesn't check for e firmwares so it doesn't see you have 3.3e installed.

I honestly don't know what would happen if you let it update with a old out of region update, but the games will still run on out of region firmwares. You just have to skip the update by brickblocking the iso before burning it.

If it is an out of region game disc and your Wii is updated with latest update the worst that should happen is duplicated news and weather channels.

But as a precaution you should use Wii Brick Block on all backups in case they are mislabeled when it comes to the region. This will protect you 100% from a region brick.

how do i use brick block please ppl am new to this game.
also can you tell me weres the best place to download games from and what discs to use?? i am using tdks but they only seem to be read off wii somtimes.
