Hi,

I recently bought a 4Gig Memory Card(http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202629242#cRevSec) over the internet from Buy.com. After receiving the card and putting a couple ISOs on it, it worked fine for a couple days, then it started to become really laggy at the menu screen. When I click on an icon it takes an extremely long time to open, and if I try to turn off the PSP it doesn't work so I need to take the battery out or wait it out. But if I wait it out for some reason sometimes it'll go back to regular speed, but eventually it'll get back to being laggy again. It also takes a long time to transfer files, it's taking ~10mins to transfer 142MB of files from the PC to the PSP. I also have 2 other 1GB cards but the problem didn't start happening until after using the 4Gig, the PSP will lag on the 1Gigs also. It could be old age but i'm not sure, my PSP is 3-4 years old by now.

Short Version:
-Phat PSP, 3-4 years old
-Starts lagging really bad after using 4GB card for a couple days
-Also lags on 2 other 1GB cards
-Lag stops sometimes after something is "loaded" (ex: laggy before/during clicking Pictures icon, then works at regular speed after loading the pictures) The picture size isn't the problem, it lags at the menu screen too.
-Takes an extremely long time to transfer files(~10mins for 142MB of files)

Does anyone know whats wrong with my PSP? Is it just dying out because it's so old, bad memory card?

hrmmm very strange... a pro duo card like that should run very fast. i have the 8gb version of that card and can copy a 150mb file in about 10 seconds...

it may behoove you to buy a cheap card reader for your PC so you can see if the problem is with the cards or with your PSP... if they read/write fine on a PC card reader then obviously the problem is not the card but is your PSP....

Check your cards that there not fake....From XMB goto music or game then go down to mem stick, press triangle, information, and beside MAGICGATE it should say supported. If it says UNKNOWN its a fake.
