Hey. I am a newbie to sound systems and things alike, but my birthday's today and my sis said she would buy me a surround system. However, she asked me to look for the one I want.

So, since I was never really into audio hardware (more into videos and resoloutions), If I am a starter to these things and want to connect my 360 to a surround sound system, what do I have to buy?

My setup is a 360 connected to my monitor using a VGA cable plus it's a speaker system (The red and white cables are connected to this box and stereo speakers come out of it, but it's not surround)

You will need a Digital Optical input on the surround sound.

You connect the Digital Optical cable between the Optical output which is on the Xbox 360 Video Cable to the Optical input of the surround sound.
