Hi:

Recently, I acquired a Pioneer DVR-106D External DVD Drive, which came with NTI burning software, something called NTI Backup Now! software. I am seeking a solid opinion on NTI Backup Now! Is it worth $50?

Thanks,

wlloyd

It seems very expensive to me.

Nero 6 Ultra used on a Pioneer DVR-104 this end..

Thanks, Herbsman.

Seems that my offer of $50 is an appreciable discount from the $80 shown in the ZDNet review.
Until I can find how to copy DVDs in a reasonable amount of time, I do not plan to invest in any more related software. I "blew it," I think by plunking down for Replicant2, which won't overcome encryption.
Talk about "pricey," they should give that software away.

Any tips on copying an encrypted DVD within 2 1/2 hours?

Thanks,

wlloyd

I use

DVD Decrypter (free)
DVD2One (about ?39)
Nero 6 Ultra (forget the price of this , but you can get 30 day demo)

But you can save some money perhaps by using DVD Shrink instead of DVD Decrypter & DVD2One (as DVD Shrink is free also + it unencrypts & compresses all in one).

I persoanlly think good burning software should be supported (ie; paid for) lol

Anyway , feel free to ask for any other advice - herb
P.S. The method I mentioned above that I use takes about 1hr & thats cos I can only burn at X2 : ]-~

Herb:

I have learned over the years that whatever the endeavor KEEP IT Simple. Please tell me what I would need with Nero Ultra 6 to copy DVDs. I suspect that my system is incompatible with DVD Shrink(and its children).

Thanks,

You seriously need to sort your system spec out as I dont know how you have your burner installed etc..
But if (as you stated on another thread) DVD Decrypter takes 90 minutes to successfully rip a DVD then I would say there is something that needs sorting.

I dont think it's down to the software basically (I could be wrong but its the way it sounds).
Have you tried altering Primary / Secondary settings , Slave / Master etc. Maybe the jumper switch setting ?

peace
