Hi - I'm new on here. I looked through the posts and can't solve my problem.
I have downloaded a few games from torrents and can't seem to get them to work on my modded 360.
I use WinRar to get the iso file. I used Imgburn (or whatever it's called) to burn the file to disc. I manually set the break at 19730 (whatever the number is - got it from the forums here). I get a successful burn on my Verbatim +DL discs using my Phillips DVD burner. When I put it in my 360 - my 360 reads it then the screen goes black for about 5 seconds then it gives me the message about a dirty disc. Am I missing a step? Can I burn a disc successfully by just using Winrar and Imgburn? Any help is much appreciated - thanks!

Since there is no mention of it, is your console modded to be able to play said backups?

Yes - it is modded, as I said in my second paragraph. I'm not that new here :)

Hi all.
I have a problem with coasters too.
I have a flashed 360, and i have made a backup of bad company on verbatim dvd+r dl which worked fine. (read with sh d162d with kreon firmware)
Trouble is that my xbox scratched the disk and it is now unplayable,so i made another backup from the image which was still on my HD.
I have now made 5 disks, all coasters. I keep getting the message 'unplayable disk'.
I have tried writing the image from clone cd, imageburn 2.4.0 + 2.4.2, i have input the layer break into imgburn, and tried burning on a sony dvdrw aw-g17a and a liteon dvdrw lh-20a1h, all on made in singapore verbatims.
No luck!
I cannot understand why the first backup of bad company worked, but all others haven't (i have checked the iso with xdvd mulleter beta 10.2, no probs found). I have also tried to burn a different game, which also turns out to be an unplayable disk.
Something seems to have changed but i can't think what.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

if ur using imgburn (and ur layer break is fine) - ur problem is probably the booktype ...
1. click the little book icon at the bottom right of img burn
2. Select your burners manufacturer
3. select "Drive (for DVD+R DL Media)" in the drop down menu next to Change for:
4. Select "DVD-ROM" in the drop down menu next to New Setting:
5. click the "Change" button
6. a pop up box reading "Success!" should pop up - click ok then ok on the booktype box then try burning
i couldnt get any backups to work until i set the booktype ...
@ safedisk
i also had that problem where all of a sudden im not getting successful burns ...
first time - it was the discs i was using - make sure ur using Verbatims made in Singapore
second time this happened - the reason is still unknown, however, i corrected the issue by updating my burners firmware

Hi Pilferd
Thanks for replying.
I can confirm that i am using verbatims made in singapore.
I also reflashed my lite-on recorder to LL0D last night.
Still no luck!
It is like something has changed on my pc and any disk i burn is no good. My other backed up games that i already have are ok, but any fresh burns are trash.
It is an expensive problem as well, each disk costs £1.50 and i have 8 coasters.
I also tried the imageburn settings you gave to a previous poster.
I might try and restore my pc to about 4 weeks ago to see if that makes any difference.
thanks again.

1. have you played any backedup games before?
2. are you shure you have your xbox360 flashed with the proper modded firmware?
3. are you shure the files you are downloading any good?
4. dont you have about 40 bucks to invest in a kreon flashed drive for your pc so you dont have to worry about crappy downloaded files and if you do get a good file downloaded you dont have to spend time making sue if its stealth patched or not, then if it isnt stealth patched you dont have to wast your time on mulleter and so on and so on.....
yeah the 40 bucks for the sammy flashed with kreon is well worth it.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!
