Can I upgrade from WiiKey 1.2 US directly to 1.9s

I have just bought this Wii from my brother and it has firmware 3.1U and WiiKey 1.2 US

As I am new to all of this I need some information before I upgrade.

What is the latest Wii firmware and can I install it directly from a game without getting blocked?

I have read in this forum where some people stop it half way through the update and reboot the Wii. Is this necessary or can I just let the whole update take place before I update the WiiKey firmware.

I would like to know if I can upgrade from WiiKey 1.2 US directly to 1.9s US
