I wanted to know if updating my Wii to the 3.2u will cause any affect to my back-up games? They are all working perfectly right now and I am unsure if updating the firmware will affect the games. Super Mario Galaxy works fine for my system and all the games are in NTSC because I don't want to mess around with the region. The reason I ask is because I would need to update in order to play the back-up version of Mario Kart, but I don't want to mess up or brick the Wii system by the update.
Please let me know if it's alright to update the firmware to 3.2u and my back-up and Super Mario Galaxy game will still work. All of them are on Verbatim dvds as well. Thanks guys!
Hey thanks for the fast reply. So by updating the firmware to 3.2u through the internet on the Wii, all the games, including Super Mario Galaxy, will be playable? I also a little confused whether or not it is necessary to update the Wiikey to 1.9s just to play Mario Kart. I believe that the 1.9s update is only to play Super Smash Bros. and it is not needed to play Mario Kart am I correct? Other than that, I have no other questions.

The people you're seeing as having trouble with firmware 3.3 have truncha-signed games, which have been hacked to remove the updates.
Firmware 3.3 blocks truncha signed disks but all your unmodified backups will still work fine, same as they do on firmware 3.1 and 3.2
And to answer the question you started on your other thread theres no way to update to 3.2 online anymore. If you want 3.2 and not 3.3 the only way is to update from a game. Mario kart contains update 3.2 so use that to update.
Edit: You were right on 1.9s though. It is only required to play original copies of smash bros. Backup copies of the game, as well as backup copies and originals of all other games, run perfectly fine on 1.9g
I did search but I did not find a definite answer like the ones you've given me so far. The back-ups I have, some of them are Brickblocked so would that count as a modified game? When I do put in the Mario Kart back-up, it does ask my if I want to update. As you mentioned, the update on Mario Kart is 3.2u. After this update from Mario Kart, all of my other back-up and original games WILL work correct? I want a 100% answer before I do this because I cannot afford my Wii to not work with all the games. I have no idea what truncha signed games are so I'm pretty sure I do not have any types of those games.
