Hi, I played a movie on my PSP, exited to my XMB, and put the PSP to sleep. However, when I turned it back on, I got the "serious error" red screen. After that, I got the "settings are corrupted" blue screen. I press O but it keeps going back to that blue screen. I tried going back to 1.50 via the recovery menu, but after starting my PSP just shut off leading to a full brick. I made the Pandora's Battery and after downgrading back to 1.50 using it, it stopped at "updating registry... cannot write system.dreg." Then I tried updating my magic memory stick to install either the 3.71 official or custom firmware but it always stops at formatting flash1 then the PSP shuts off. When I tried to dump my NAND, it says:
"Bad block at page 55808 block 1744
Bad block at page 57216 block 1788."
I never did anything with the flash so I don't know how I messed it up. The only thing that might have gone wrong was maybe a bad recovery folder when I did the initial 1.50 downgrade through the recovery menu but I'm not sure if it was wrong. I don't know what is wrong with my PSP now. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi!

Bad blocks in the NAND are pretty commonplace -- having two shouldn't be a problem.

The first thing I would try is re-updating the MMS with a different custom firmware [or 1.50] and trying again. If it doesn't work, then try it one more time with a different CFW.

In the event that this doesn't work, then try using a different method of installing the files to the MMS. If you use the oldschool method, then try using a newer program that will install the files for you, and vice versa.

If it still doesn't work after this, then try getting a different memory stick and turning it into a MMS. This way we'll know if it is the card causing the problem.

Beyond this, I can't be much help. The problem may be with the PSP itself and you may have a full unrecoverable brick, but let's hope not.

I can get it to work now, but it always have the same problem. Sometimes when I boot the PSP, the black screen is there. I would then remove the battery and put it back in and it would work. Sometimes, when I try to click anything on the XMB menu and it won't load up.

Your flash is messed up then.

If you backed it up, then go into the recovery menu and replace both flash0 and flash1 with your backup. If you didn't, then you will need to get a flash0 and flash1 from somewhere -- I saw in another thread that you had a friend with a CFW PSP, you could try and get them from him (Just go into the recovery menu, hook up the PSP to the computer, and toggle flash0 and flash1 on).

I think this query has been answered to you a few times before by me, Re-partion lflash and then re-flash the firmware.

Your the victim of the anti-hack sony bomb, made to stop dc3 writing the flash files hence it pauses at flash1.

Sony designed it to stop writing to the EEC of the flash and you see the BSOD.

If you don't want to listen me thats fine, keep trying what your trying as it not working either way and never will.

You need Corys NANDtool and then you need dc 3,4,5,6 or 7.
