Ok, so I've read through a bunch of threads and I'm still confused about one thing: Is the problem with the ms28 drive getting it to show up in windows? For example, I have a Xeno Top Gear, so will using that to flash the ms28 work just fine without me buying a VIA SATA card, so long as I can get it to show up in Windows? Just wondering because I know it's only $18 but if I can save the money, I'd rather do that. I have a NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP chipset (the Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard).

Thank You!!!

i dunno someone else might, but i would just get the card and save the headache, you are saving 60$ a game as it is, so i would just fork out the 18$

How am I saving $60 a game? Flashing is for backup purposes, I'm not going to steal games. I have a younger brother (9 years old) who likes to use my 360, and I'd rather him use backups than scratch up my originals.

exactly and instaed of buying two copys of the game you only have to buy one which saves you 60$ a game. dont expect to get help if your are going to act like that. we arnt pirates, so you came to the right site, unfourtantly with the wrong attitude. maybe someone else here will be willing to help you, unfourtantly you leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I apologize. I misunderstood what you meant by that statement. I didn't mean to accuse you or anyone for that matter. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come across as having an attitude. I honestly didn't mean any harm.

Out of curiosity, what would happen if I tried flashing the MS28 without the VIA chipset? Would just nothing happen or could I potentially brick my 360?

u run the risk of flashing a drive in your pc which means you would be screwed there, and you run the risk of bricking your 360. meaning you ruin your pc and 360 in less than 3 secs, just to save 18$

If it were me, I'd try it.

There is a tut here that explains how to flash with NForce chipset using dosflash. I've done it many times with nforce4 chipset way before the tut was ever made.

The only way to know is to try it.

I like to learn things on my own though. I'm weird like that. ;)

i agree with CL i am the same way, just know what risks you are taking when you do something like that, most ppl arnt even comfortable with flashing so thats why that chipset is alyways recommended, but if you are comfortable enough under the hood of a pc, then by all means go for it.
