i've got the hitachi 0047 drive and today i beleive i modded it i ran slax and got into mode b drive did everything it was supposed to in mode b. then used iXtreme 1.4 ran flashix and it did its whole thing. when it was done it said i could shut dow so i did and put everything back together. now my problem is when i try to play a burned game i keep getting unrecognizable disk on my 360.
I'm using verbatim dvd+r dl, imgburn, layer break 1913760,wont let me change book type but read that pioneer drives automaticaly do it.
i've got a pioneer dvdrw DVR-K17b ATA device. am i doing something wrong with the burning or did i miss something when flashing my drive? any suggestions would be helpful

will it play a regular retail game? need to know that part too.

yhea it will play regular games. when i put the burned disk back in the comp dvd drive powerdvd opens up like its gonna play a movie and the screen shows "to play this disk put it in an xbox 360 console"
which makes me beleive its burning the disk correctly

are you sure you flashed it? I would assume so, but is there any way possible something could have happened and you didn't? Can you test it with burned media that you know works on other people's flashed 360? You can narrow out the media, and it might be you just need to flash it again

so i restored back to OF and now when i put in a burned disk it comes up with "to play this disk insert it into an xbox 360 console"
which now makes me believe it was the flash. i want to try it again but my question now is if i try to flash my drive to many times is it gonna screw it up?

you really cant screw up the drive all that much now, just make sure you follow the steps exactly and all should go well.

so i re-flashed my box and am still having the same problem of unrecognized disk. also just realized my verbatims are mii do you think that could be my problem? disks are burning correctly as far as i can tell its just that my 360 wont recognize them

did you ever solve this problem? as i have the same problem.
i have the same dvr-k17b drive as you and my 360 wont play the the games i burn but it will play games my mate has done. if you found the problem could you please let me know.

no i've tried everything but cant get it to work i'm thinking it's the k-17 thats the problem. I'm gonna go buy an external burner and see if that does anything

so i've done some more research on this. i bought a new samsung drive burned a disk and still have the same problem. I came across a thread on another site saying to change the pot calibration on the hitachi drive. heres the link.

i tryed it and it worked i can now play those disks that were getting the unrecognized message.
