Chipping your Wii will probly void your Warrenty, £70 pounds is a very good price, make sure he installs the D2PRO9, playing backed up games is harder on the Wii's laser and does shorten it's life span but thats the price you pay + anew laser is cheap, i wouldnt loose sleep over it at all! it is'nt dificult to back up your original games but you need a special drive(type of LG, read forums).

Special = specific drive there are only 4/5 LG drives that will read wii originals that i know off. it takes a couple of hours to dump them onto your computer in .iso fromat,, if you have backed up wii games in .iso format already use imageburn @ 4speed with good media such as Verbatim DVD-R's, sould only take about 10minutes to copy them,, read the thread on backing up Wii games.

Yes you can burn the iso's on any dvd burner,do them at 4x speed.

I don't know anything about the Argon but i have installed many D2PRO9's w/o many issues.

or you can wait till the iso loader rumors are either confirmed or canceled.; then you can mod it in case it happens to be false.

Instead of hacking ur wii through hardware (installing a modchip), you can do it through a software modification. if u can hold on a couple of day, maybe u wont need it :)

if you go to here you will see an article. It's going to come out. If you don't want to open your wii, it might be a good idea... However, I am pretty sure that Nintendo will be much more vigilant about trying to close the homebrew loophole once people start loading iso's

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

All i can say is what? is this a riddle:D,
Your getting ur Wii modded? ..OK
The seller? a modder? is selling you a chip but doesnt know what chip he's selling? perhaps he's blind? or he does'nt know what chipset your Wii has?, ie. D2B ,D2C etc..

If this is the case slap your Wii serial number into this site
http://www.wiidrives.com/

, you'd know this is if you wernt too lazy to read the forms?(what chipset does my Wii contain)

riddle me this.

I already now what my wii chip is it is
GC2-D2C
and i know all the mod chips that are available for it but the problem is that here it is hard to modify wii so the seller keep this chip type "confidential"
I know how dumb it sounds but is there any way to know the type of chip he is using

I don't see any diffence in keeping the chip type confidential? doesnt make sense even if chipping is illigal how would keeping the name of the type make any diffrence?,, it would be like ooo im selling drugs to you but if i keep the name of the illigal drug a secret then it's ok?

Mate i reckon he's 1) maybe trying to con you
2) keeping the name from you because he's installing a cheap crap chip.

Ok well if he's keeping the name from you you won't know what software to download to update it, if it is even updateable?

You can tell if theres a serial programmer cable sticking out the back beside the usb port, post pictures if there is? but i have a feeling he's installing an old chip like the D2CKEY.

You could open up the Wii and have a look at the chip:D peak in the SD port and try and see any lights flashing:D figure out from that.

All in all i find this redicious no offence to you but to whoever is modding your Wii, he needs a good kick up the arse:D
