I know that with the new fall update coming I will have to flash my 360 again. Can I just overide the old firmare, I think I have 1.4, or do I have to flash back to original then flash it again?
well if you have 1.4, right now there isn't a newer ixtreme firmware yet, so you don't actually have to flash it yet. if another one comes out, then yeah you would probably want to. I know some people reflash to original and then to a newer hacked firmware. Others just extract the drive key, and put it in the most up to date hacked firmware and they are fine too.
blake is wrong. Do not listen to that post of his. The only time that you would need to reflash your drive is if a newer version of ixtreme comes out. Even then, you don't have to, but it would be recommended that you should.
Just because a dashboard update comes out doesn't mean you have to reflash your drive. If it is safe with your current firmware, then you're fine.
I dont play games on Live, I just use it to download arcade games and the occasional demo and game-adons.
What you are saying then is that I can download the newest dashboard update when it becomes available without hesitation. I dont have to flash my drive to get it. It wont mess up my allready flashed drive by adding the new dashboard
