only one fan works

Hi, i have just done the xclamp fix, all has gone well, but when i was re assembling my console i accidentally screwed through one of my vent light wires and now one of my fans dont work, it is not the fan as this is brand new and was working before i made this error, and also i have tried my old fan and same thing happens, i think it has something to do with where you plug the fan in, could i have blown something and is easy to fix?

if you went through one of the wires, try splicing it back together, otherwise sounds like you shorted something out. sounds like to me though that you just need to splice that wire back together

Think i mght have shorted something, was just thinking of joining the wires together from the fan that doesnt work to the wires that do work but didnt know if i would overload something, what do you think?

Hey homey, i am in 2 minds whether to do it or not, do both fans run at different speeds according to how hot the cpu and gpu get?

not that i am aware of it is one solid speed. depending on temp both fans run same speed.

Hi, i have spliced my wires together so both fans work now but they seem to be pushing air out, is this correct only i thought it was supposed to push air through the box?

My fans are sucking air out, think they are working backwards for some reason, any idea why?
Never mind someone just told me on another forum that they are working properly, thanks anyway

Hey, both my fans work now but they seem to be running at full speed realy quickly and my xbox is really loud, then it foze on me after about 30mins, any ideas?

Sorry for double post but just read that the whisper fan max runs off the dvd drive is this true coz i could use this plug instead of the fan port couldnt i?

I am using the normal whisper fan. Starts off pretty quiet but after a bit sounds like its about to take off. lol

Hi back to my original post. You said about taking a pic so here it is,

well some poeple use metal, but nylon works for me. the pic looks good, are you sure you used the correct amount of thermal is problem #1, #2 is did you let it heat up and cool down after the fix? and # if yes to both of those i would try loosening/tightening the screws. the fans spinning faster means it thinks the xbox if really hot, which it prolly is if it froze after 30 min. try playing around with all of that stuff i said first, after awhile reading these post that is typically the problem, it just takes a little adjusting. after you mess around with it for a little while if you still cant get it to work properly, come back and i have 2 last suggestions for you, but they are last resort.

I had it to bits again last night and got a quarter turn on all of my screws, tried it but still froze, think maybe it could be the paste, i got it off ebay with my kit, dont think its AS5, and i only put a tiny bit of paste on, just enough to cover chip. You could almost see through it, is that the correct amount?
