I paid this guy to mod my fat psp to cfw 4.01 m33 and I want to mod my brother's psp myself. The guy who modded mine said that I can make my own pandora battery with my new set up. Is that true? Also what steps should I take to mod the system?

The best guide I saw was this one: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610313

But the cfw in this guide is the old one. I noticed that I even have the program "firmware 401 update". if anyone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it. Thanks!

I recommend using UPMS, then manually upgrade to 4.01 M33. Use this guide

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/580254

It will get you to 3.90 M33.

If you still want to use the Unviersal Unbricker Guide then use this ( not the one you linked)

thanks gooey! I think the first link you provided will be much easier. After I complete the procedure, how do I manually upgrade to 401 m33? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm still learning how to mod. thanks for your help!

Might I recommend the setup found HERE ?

-It is the latest offering of UPT/UPMS-It will install DCv7 (4.01M33-2)to your 'Magic' memory stick as well as the previous DC versions. Setup is a breeze just like the previous version of UPMS that was mentioned earlier.
No need to install older versions anymore and then have to swap memory sticks to update to 4.01M33-2..Its all included-Even has an option to regenerate the idstorage if your psp is completely F'd...

Detailed guide for install and usage can be found HERE

Happy Modding!

@dEEz_nUtz,

When are you going to update your UPMS guide ? Cuz newbies are really needed for that guide.

Unfortunately there is nothing to update at this time. The guys that brought us the UPMS program are working on new developments and hopefully there will be updates soon-in the meantime I have been recommending that people use the updated UPTv5 which has the newer firmware versions, as well as having a similar feel as UPMS as far as installation and usage is concerned.
