I have a PSP Slim battery that I hardmodded by cutting the chip pin. I did it this way because I didn't have any way to create one through software, and it was a basically useless battery I had laying around (I have a PSP Phat). Now the problem I'm having is that the PSP doesn't seem to acknowledge the Pandora battery at first. If I plug in the AC adapter and turn it on, it will simply boot normally. Under Battery Information it does not show a battery installed at all. Just External Power.
I had originally thought that I screwed up and cut the wrong pin or otherwise fouled the battery when I opened it. So I was going to buy another battery the following morning. I didn't remove the Magic memory stick or Pandora battery from the PSP, and I left it plugged in. When I woke up the next morning, I saw it had booted itself into the Pandora installer!! I was able to install CFW 4.01-M33 flawlessly.
I installed NES and Sega emulators (my main reason for installing CFW), and showed it off to a couple friends. Now all of a sudden I have 15 people who want their PSP's modded too because word got around. I've done 3 more of them so far, and they all seem to act the same way with the Pandora battery -- They seem to only boot the Pandora tools when they are good and ready to (anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours after battery installation). But once the bootloader shows up, it's a 5 minute process.
Anyone else ever have this problem? I've tried every possible way around this.. Battery then AC, AC then battery, regular battery then AC then Pandora, hold power switch for 30 seconds, etc etc. I can't get it to boot the damn Pandora on demand. It has to decide it wants to.
