I haven't tried it, but the thing that I saw on a different site was
Quote: You must have the CIOS installed, as well as DVDX with advanced setting IOS249 installed.
Does that help? I haven't even seen a readme for setting it up anywhere.

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

When you try to uninstall the old custom IOS, are you doing so from the WAD manager, or with the specific IOS uninstalling homebrew?

You're supposed to open DVDX installer, then go to advanced, and pick IOS249.
I got the same error message before I installed it.

Well honestly, it doesn't matter. You're not missing anything. 95% of the games are unplayable, and the other 5% take too long to load, have choppy audio and video, and gameplay is like "WTFBBQ?"
I suggest you either get a modchip or pick up where cry-baby Waninkoko left off.

so here's what i did, through the homebrew channel
using wad manager, I installed CIOS36_REV5-64-v1042.wad.
I then installed DVDX with advanced setting IOS249.
inserted the disc. and using the iso loader here's what I got:
please insert a wii game disc...ok!
resetting drive...ok!
title identification ...ERROR! (ret = -4100)
Press any button to restart the wii...
I'm guessing the game I used is unplayable, i'll try another one and see how that goes.

You need to patch the ISO using the backup-creator.
Make sure you have backup-creator.exe, common-key and the game ISO in a folder. Drag the game ISO to backup-creator.exe and it will start creating the patched ISO to burn.

CIOS is a custom IOS (firmware) so yes you need to install it.

I'm having the same exact problem you are having, I burned Mario Kart NTSC, patched the ISO and everything and the same error is spitting back out to me. Anybody have a resolve for this, or did I just have a bad burn, bad game...?

does anyone know if burned games patched by brick blocker work with back up loader? or do you specifically have to use back up creator. ?
i just burned a bunch of games patched by brick blocker and i keep getting error ret = -4100.
also cIOS rev5 doesnt show up as a channel in the wii, unlike all the other .wad files i have installed, is that normal?
thanks

I get the same error. I followed the same steps. I am trying to play Order Up! Have you made any progress?
