Well go the ISO working when I burned the Mario Kart NTSC ISO to a DVD-R =) Though like everyone else already says and knows the ISO loader is honestly just not worth messing with. I clicked single player and the game crashed XD

I'm looking forward to hopefully future versions of the ISO loader cause I would like to see improvement with this.

This also reminds me of the beginning ISO loaders for PSP =) I picture this going in the same direction.

There is already a new one made by Wiigator. It fixes a lot of the display issues when using SD cables. And for force PAL 60 and Force NTSC options I could get more titles running. It is pretty cool.

Even with Waninkokos I now have 20 more titles than I did before.

Here is a channel launcher for WiiGators. http://www.sendspace.com/file/iz8q4k

Thanks to psycon

Thanks for the link. The channel works great, though with the same slow drive access as the original.

My biggest issue currently is the backup-creator not recognizing ISOs.

Any fixes?

Srood13,

Put one of the games you burned into your PC then start IMGburn. then click on "verify disk".

This will bring you to another screen where IMG burn will display information about the media in your drive and how the book-type was set on the last burn.

This will display information about your disk in the drive.

There is a section labeled

"Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):"
mspaint
Under that you should see "Book Type"

What does it say there?

For me, if the booktype was anything besides "DVD-ROM" it would not work.

Once you let me know what model burner you have, I can tell you if you can change the booktype information.

Hi.

Could anyone assist me? It appears I need to change my booktype but I have no idea about changing the booktype on my burners.

I currently use a:

Freecom DVD+/-RW16B9 Double Layer External
Sony DRX-510ULK Dual Layer External
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T11N A103 (ATA)

Does anyone have any advice???

Cheers.

Yeah, just used DVD-Rs.

By the way, for me it turns out the DVD-Backup.exe would only work when I dropped to the command line.

Try looking here http://www.k-probe.com/bitsetting-bookty...BitSettingLinks

Also try using google. Do a search for your drive type and changing booktype.

Hi, i just started two days ago with using backed up games when i was searching the net on how to do it.

I came on the afterdawn forum, there was a tutorial on how to do it through the homebrew channel and so on, it can be found here...

I just followed these steps, burned a patched iso right onto a very cheap DVD+R (brand Platinum), and it already worked.
The game was Monopoly just to try.
I didn't mess with any settings, it all just worked out fine for me.

So i suggest you follow this tut. and try burning a patched iso with IMGburn.

The newest Backup Launcher BETA 3 (WiiGator works with unpatched games plus there are claims that almost all games work. So I would suggest trying to update to version 3 of WiiGators Backup Launcher and try that.

More info on it HERE.

Indeed!

I've installed the update yesterday.

It was very simple, just connect your Wii to the internet with that crappy network-usb-box.
I've downloaded a rar file with the backuplauncher v3.0 (beta) and the cios installer that you will need.

Just put them both in the apps folder on your SD, install the cios.
(Note that you have to uninstall your DVDX cios if you have that one installed (ios249 probably) before installing the new cios. That can be done with the DVDX installer/uninstaller.)

now you're ready to load games with the new backup launcher.
The only difference that I found is the much faster load times and slightly better compatibility.
I just wonder when I will be able to play Star Wars TFU with the new backup launcher because those two don't go togetter...
