i have a .mkv file encoded at 720p. my computer can take 1080p, what should i do to play it because it lags constantly and it goes out of sync

its a sony vgn fw140D, it says it can support 1080p, and i did reinstall my viideo card's driver. i also put another similar post in the same threads category. check it out if u want. thanks for the reply

Does it play those ok now? What kind of codecs do you have and what player are you using?

i use VLC and media player classic, the codecs i really dont know cause i just bought it, what codecs do u suggest i should download ? Xvid ?

Then you should remove them, those work just fine for me.

I`d suggest that you remove all codecs and try this, it dont need any codecs because they are in it.

Im just gonna ask you a couple of questions... nned to know if u encountered the same problem as me with the 1080p AND
something irrelevant and unrelated : what do u mean by 10 types of people (in ur signature)

I had same problem with my older combuter I tried several different players and codecs. Only this GOM Player showed 1080p right, at least it was best, still some problems with seeking but that was because computer wasnt powerfull enough.

Now I use this CCC pack and Media Player Classic.

And I can see you can not read binary.

shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit i didnt notice LOL, oh shit i suck :P and i can read binary lol but i just didnt think right lol, when i msged u this i was in a class where we learn binary lol and even my friend didnt notice haha, fkn funny thats very good!!

back to serious now : it still lags and goes out of sync WHAT SHOULD i DOOO ??

i know im kind of pissing u off now, if u rly have no more ideas ill just bring the computer to sony and give them shit i live at like 25 minutes away from there head in office in montreal

Play your files that lag.
Open the task manager see how much cpu is being used.
Open the process tab and see what tasks are using all the cpu.

its around 55%, but for some reason it now works well with vlc the sync isnt as bad as before, but we can still see a difference. but i guess its fine that way. thanks guys I appreciate alot. if u guys need any hook up from future shop come see me in montreal hehe :)
