Okay so I have had my xbox softmodded (with Ndure) for a year now, got a 500gb hd, tons of movies games and all my media needs. been happy with it for a while till I betrayed the #1 rule "Dont fix it if it isnt broken"
I have been having to go through the UnleashX to get to my most used dashboard (XBMC with Aeon skin on 42" Plasma = amazing!) So I decided to go through to process of making XBMC my primary dash, ftp to xbox, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/376141 using this method I didnt link the right Default.xbe and made my xbox load only to a blank screen, after tossing in a hundred non functional boot disks, it now boots to the clock on the original dash.
So I went to the hotswapping method, I hotswapped to ndure/xbrowser to copy over the original modded default.xbe in the dash folder (the only thing I changed) put it back together and turned it back on.... Loads back into the clock!!.... Got to the original xbox dash/music/soundtrack/copy/rename/<<EggsBox>>/ loads out of xbox and into..... the clock..... no worries, its only six or seven hours down the tube only to be chasing my own tail.... any direction would be welcome.
Okay so I fixed it and I figured I better tell you guys, I hotswapped my xboxhd to ndure/xbrowser then I copied over both the C:/ and the E:/ put it back together and works as good as before, I didnt lose my data on the F:/ drive or any additional files left on the E:/. It just copied over the core files and fixed it. Its good to know that I can do that if I ever fubar it up again.
hi do you know much xbox homebrewing? it sounds like you do, i like learning about homebrewing eg. iphones,ds,psp etc
but i'm new to xbox
recently upgraded my hdd myself following a tute, but now i can't:
1. turn on and see my xbox menu. which i use to be, (its my choice if i wanted to startup the modchip or not) but now i see the microsoft dashboard error, i only get the menu if i start up my mod chip i.e hold the power button
2. my hdd doesn't recognose my games i put in the e:\games
folder, also why does xbox freeze so much, i start up a movie and if i push a button it freezes, i tried opening up a game in 'media centre through 'browzer' and it froze, i mean if it can't open shouldn't it just NOT open or i get a error, why a freeze?
