Barry Gitarts faught a long battle as he is the only one who went to trial. He also had problems as another member of aPC testified against him in court, a guy by the name of Jacob Stahler (known on irc as Luna or lunatik)

you can read some of the court documents and get more information from http://www.piracyisacrime.org/In-The-Cou...-group-apc.html

You know i don't really miss warez at all.

Most warez garbage is software that is full of viruses malware or spyware even the cracks for it contain viruses malware and spyware.

Even still when accessing sites that contain the warez links even lead to spyware and malware.

So where is the advantage of downloading Warez in this day and age huh.

Warez is and was good, its all the crap that spring up around it that degraded it, hell under the definition of it its the same stuff on the torrents now, warez was free data for the masses the ok to great stuff came without the virus and crap..

Know your warez.. know your cracking groups.. and most of all.. know your sources.

No commercial gain = no crime... another unjust decision from the greedy and paid off legal system. Soon it will be a crime to whistle a tune while walking down the road.

Warez is still good. The problem is the BSA member companies that produce AV products that falsely flag warez utilities such as keygens, patches, etc as a trojan or virus. I read too many negative comments about warez posts on various usenet and irc indexing sites that come directly from false positives by the Symantec and various other inferior/bought off AV products.
