14-year-old arrested for music uploads

Hong Kong customs official Michael Kwan has confirmed that his office has arrested a 14-year old boy for allegedly uploading over 2000 Cantonese language pop songs to a website and making them available for free download.

Can they send him to some type of juvenile detention facility, or fine his parents or something?
Or is there nothing they can really do because he is a minor?

I dunno sounds like a waste of time and shame on the kid...
I don't get it... if you pay for the internet you should have rights to do anything with it. Use it to your advantage if you wish as long as nobody looses money from it minus the rich people who make the songs...
I mean how much money do the singers/ music artists want?

ya see the funny thing is they would do that to a 14 year old in this country to.I think its a crock, all the guidelines for the music and movie industry, they act like there not making billions already; and now the want 50 Gs from a 14 year old give us a break.

varnull, the bill that passed this week gives instant line of credit for first time home owners who are not in the top 30% earnings bracket.
I would be real happy to see some kind of punishment for the fat cats. I had one come to the house uninvited trying to get me to borrow a large sum of money to invest in the stock market. The guy was completely full of it. That guy should go to jail, not the kid. But that is not how government works. The theives give money to the crooks that make the laws just to insure they will not get hammered in a case like this.

From what I hear they have low crime rates in most of asia because they use cruel and unusual punishment. The result is most people are safer than in the US or Europe.
Sontiago, the top 10 contributers for everyone on the justice committies are the media mafia and M$.
They really ought to fry at least the loan officers that made the most bad loans. The top 10% 5 years suspention, 10-20% 1 year suspention and 20-30% 6 mon suspention from all government loans. You might think the isn't much but the top will never do any real loans agian. Once you are out of a job for 5 years you will not be able to get back in. Bad Banks will have to let most if not all of of the 10-20% go. The will not be able carry or move 20% of there loan officers. It is easer to just hire new ones. Many of the 10-20% will lose their houses. The banks will only be able to float/help the 20-30% group for 6 mon.
