Alright ive searched through all the forums like evryone else and im totally dumbfounded. I have my xbox and my laptop, and a t1 connection routed through a 5 port switch. I cant connect to my xbox though! i have the evox dash with settings
Static IP 192.168.0.200
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.0
I can connect to the internet because i am able to play HALO online. However i cannot ping or get into my box.
I was able to use a crossover to get into it but i want to be able to be on the internet and be able to get into it at the same time. Any advice would be awesome
I try using FlashFXP.
thanks

wassup..
hmm...
does your switch have a dhcp server on your switch? if so, then you want to setup evolution x dashboard so it so Static ip = No, i have a four port router with a dhcp server.
Also, what are your network ips, gateway and so on in winxp? (go to My Network Places, View network connections, right click > Status
If you do use static ip, make sure you have the gateway and subnet set to your networks.
hope that helps
peace

The switch is DHCP. I have tried it with no static IP but i still cant connect. My network connection is as follows
IP : 168.122.212.195
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Assigned By DHCP
Default Gateway 168.122.212.1
I tried out the internet sharing thing but that was good. so i still not sure, thanks for the help guys. please any other things you can think of. Its an auto sensing switch so i dont think anything is wrong with that. It has to be some network thing but i cant figure it out!

i dont know if this helps but i just made a new boot cdrw with evolution x on it and this is the settings on it.
Network
Type DHCP
IP 10.66.212.221
Line 100/Full Duplex
Ethernet mac 00:50:F2:54:4F:49
Setup Network Yes
Use Static IP No
IP 192.168.0.3
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS 0.0.0.0
DNS 0.0.0.0
the IP that it states, 10.66.212.221, is not my comp's IP. could this have something to do with it?

yes one of them needs to be the address of your network card on your pc maybe you will have to manually put in your pc network card it probly is the cd your using it's usually best to edit the evox.ini file first to your pc settings ect

i've just noticed whats wrong
you don't use a crossover cable with a hub or router
its just the RJ-45 cable NOT crossover

ok i get it. quick question though. My ip on my comp constantly changes, however in the xbox it always says 10.66.212.221. So should the default gateway be this ip or the one my comp is on at the moment?
