Hi, my PSP has been laying around for about a year or more until today when I finally got 3.71 M33-2 installed through with my pandora battery.

Do I need to downgrade to 1.5 to run homebrews and the newest games? Or can I just download applications that can run filed from the memory stick?

I think I read about ½ year ago that Devhook was no longer up to date, which program is?

I should also mention that the PSP hungs up when I tried to play GTA Liberty City from UMD and when I tried to play Fight Night Round 8 from the Memory Stick (I started it just through the PSP-menu).

Most homebrew no days can work off 3.XX or higher firmware. So download homebrew compatible with 3.XX kernel or SLIM applications that are totally based on 3.XX and higher firmware.

As for the games hanging.

Not much anyone can do there. You might want to try updating to 4.01 M33-2 and see if that fixes the issues your having. You can update to 4.01 M33-2 using this guide HERE.

Just start off with the "3.71 M33-4 to 3.80 M33-5/3.90 M33-3/4.01 M33-2" guide. You do not have to update to 3.71 M33-4. You can go straight from 3.71 M33-2 to 4.01 M33 then install the 4.01 M33-2 update. The guide will explain how to do this.

You also might have better luck with games off the Memory Stick if you use the Sony NP9660 NO UMD driver. Go HERE for steps to select that driver and to get your games working properly off Memory Stick.

The wierd thing is that I played Fight Night Round 3 from the MMS and it didnt hang up (i did yesterday though, but I tried the guide u handed me).

But the UMD seems to be hanging up, I only have one UMD-disc at home atm, so unfortunately I dont have very much to compare with. maybe the UMD is impaired or something...
