Sony launches third-generation internal 8x Blu-ray writer

article published on 23 September, 2008

Sony has announced the launch of its BWU-300S internal desktop Blu-ray drive which will begin Sony's third generation of internal Blu-ray drives. They can keep it, seriously who's trying to invest in internal drives at this moment?? Better idea would be to download the movies in hd and watch em, whether it's a pay service or 5 finger internet discount if ya know what I mean :D

A possible market for these drives would be the growing number of amateur and semi-pro videographers who have invested in a high-def, likely AVCHD, videocamera like the Canon HF10. Practically all video editing software suites now include BluRay and AVCHD support.

Not everyone wants to backup everything.

Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blu-ray is not going to stay. All that forked over cash for what............a few years of HD flicks on an old, antiquetted format??

Ppppshh

I'll buy it for 29.99

29.99.. sounds a little high. Same price as a pioneer11x.. around 22 would be nice. Not forgetting disks at less than a tenner a throw.(and NOT memorex) which IF I could afford a £400 burner would go nowhere near it. Living on "treasure island" does make one a little cynical.. £=$ unless you are trying to change the paper ;)

Still no outlet for BD films in this town ;) Must be lack of money or interest in the format or something... OOO.. sorry.. I'm wrong... Plumbs have 3 BD films. A couple of disneys and a re-issue of the blue planet.
