heres the story,i bought a jap wii of ebay and installed the d2pro modchip to enable multi-region play but it only plays in black & white. Ive tried all the usual stuff new cables,connections etc but no joy.
it has the 3.3j update installed and i was wondering if the wii had been semi bricked or a bad instalation of update etc.
any help would be appreciated

Uh, have you even looked up what exactly a semi-bricked wii is? Games work perfectly on a semi-brick, but you cant access the settings.

The reason you're having trouble with the color in games is because of the region of the console.

Here is where your issue could be.

Are you sure the wii is japanese???

Not pal??

I have heard of the black and white issue with pal wii consoles on u.s tv sets.

But never with the japanese version!!!!

Because the japanese Wii consoles are Ntsc compatible which is compatible with ntsc tv's in canada and the u.s.
