'Slacker Uprising' now available worldwide via torrents

article published on 24 September, 2008

Earlier this month we reported that director Michael Moore's latest film was to be released legally, and for free via the Internet and as of today, he has followed through with that promise. The film, which is intended to bring out new voters for the upcoming presidential election, was made available via the movie's official site, but more interestingly through BitTorrent as well, using ... [ read the full article ]

A simple proxy avoidance site will bypass this check and allow you to download the BitTorrent link.

I don't understand the point of limiting it to USA and Canada if they're using torrents, once its seeded by a few people it takes little or nothing from them regardless of where they are in the world.

I watched it and I thought it wasn't as good as his other documentaries, in fact it wasn't that entertaining, unless you are a die hard political fan.

This film was very Anti-Bush, even though the opposing views of Moore's Public Speeches was viewed. It was all about trying to get people to go out and vote....for John Kerry in the 2004 election.

In the end, I probably wouldn't have missed much, if I didn't see the documentary.

By Anti-Bush they mentioned the message we have hear over and over....he lied about weapons of mass destruction and Iraq has nothing to do with 911...and so forth.

But in the end doesn't anyone think that it was for the best to take down a dictator (Saddam) who would have probably caused problems later down the road, even though he didn't have mass weapons or have any connection to 911; even though it was at a high cost?.....I guess not.

you put your finger right on it there sickwill. That's the lie, and that is the conspiracy.. what is really going on is the desire to make certain people very rich from the manufacture of armaments.. your tax dollars into their pockets... and all under the lie of "national security"

Varnull.... YES! If only the rest of the US would wake up to this! Saddam may have been a douche, but his country was FAR more stable under his rule. Many countries disagree with the death penalty which Bush supports .... but they don't try and take over the US and change its government.

Its nice to agree with you on this one.

if they can keep the country unstable its their excuse to be there, it is a classic tactic. Then the double speak fills the media with things like "we wont cave in to terrorists, we are their for the long haul"

The other double standard is the death penalty, how often do you hear in the US that another man has been electrocuted, hung, shot, gassed to death and it classed as horrific and inhuman or do you just get the corporate media ala fox and co, bitching on about Iran an ppl being stoned to death?

The other double speak is "the bias of the liberal media", is the media really liberal or are they just propaganda?

The law is the Law, unless you are the US with your continual media spin and double standards.

So is the docu any good, what's it about? Wasn't their speculation that M Moore uploaded or had someone upload his last movie to tracker sites.

Most artists want to be heard/seen and get their creations out into the world. It is the corporate greed that changes the way ppl think with lines like "if they didn't get paid $1,000,000 artists/producers/creators wouldn't bother". complete bull.

I guess once Bush is gone, left-wingers will have to go back to hating Jews.

Having an anti-Semitic President like Obama, schooled by "Reverend" Wright, should make that quite easy.

After seeing this film, all I can say is thank goodness I didn't have to pay for it.

Some assembly required.

Theres a reason it only had a 2 million dollar budget.

I watched it, it wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't as informative or thought provoking as his other movies. Bowling for Columbine is still my personal favorite.

It's unwatchably bad.
No wonder he couldn't get anyone to bankroll him on his last five projects.

A. Nothing he's ever produced was a documentary. It's all propaganda.
B. It's not even entertaining propaganda. I'll watch or listen to people I don't agree with, to see if they have any valid points, and if I should reassess my views. This has never occurred to Moore in his entire life. That makes this a waste of time and effort.
C. What Moore has done to documentaries is what the biased media have done to journalism. Neither exists any longer.

It's all just hate.

"Slackers" wasn't all that entertaining but I did throughly the ones before it. As for Bush, he deserves the treatment Moore gives him in his movies. Bush is with out a doubt the worst president our nation has had in the last 100 years. He can string two intelligent thoughts together(much like that bimbo Sarah Pailin) and lies right the public's face while putting our men and women in unecessary harm. I can't wait til this clown is out of office.

See what I mean?
He's a lame duck and Democrats are still mired in venom.

Think that hate's ever going away?
No matter who's in office?
No.
In Germany, they tolerated that kind of hate, and it took a war to cleanse it.

Party of tolerance, my ass.

So I'm sorry if this offends, but somebody needs to start saying something about it.

That was edited nicely. You should go to work for the Bush Administration or maybe even Fox News. Try turning off the Rush Limbaugh and think for yourself.

I wouldn't call him a lame duck quite yet since he's begging congress and taxpayers to give him and his drones a $700 billion dollar blank check. That should work out about as well as his stimulus package. I don't know if Obama is the answer but crazy McCain sure the hell isn't.

A blank check that wouldn't have been necessary if, as Bill Clinton said yesterday, the Democrats hadn't forced these institutions to guarantee worthless loans in the interest of social engineering.

On what grounds do you call McCain crazy?

Oh, and BTW, Paulson, the guy behind this bailout? Democrat.

Comparing Moore's style of movies to the holocaust is disgusting and down right disrespectful.

And there is no such thing as a truly unbiased opinion, its better to look at two very opposite very biased opinions and form your opinion off of that. You may think Moore is evil but he is a necessary evil.

"Downright" is one word, and no, it's not disrespectful, because it's accurate.
He employs all the same tricks and bias that Leni Riefenstahl did.
He associates with avowed anti-Semites.
He foments the same hatred.
As for the advice, the world is not in shades of gray. Believing it is has caused countless deaths, as in Rwanda. Right and wrong exist, just like good and evil exist.

I know those old tactics, spitting out random terrible events from the past because you don't think anyone would call bulls*** on it. That's petty and pathetic, and and "downright" disrespectful to the millions of people who died during the holocaust and the Rwanda civil war.

And no its not accurate, though it might seem to be to you. Its just your mind rationalizing bs because of your opinions which you have a right to but not when you take it as far as to disgrace millions of dead people.

And there is nothing perfect in the world; therefor nothing can be absolute because for something to be absolute it would have to be perfect in some sense.

Oh and if I misspelled something feel free to post back and review my grammar.
