Xbox Backup creator trouble

i'm not sure if it's xbox back up creator or my SH-D163A kreon flashed drive. What happens is when i try to backup a game however, Schtrom starts to read the disc but fails at 3% saying "Can't extract ss.bin". I've also tried Xbox backup creator which won't even allow me to start reading the disc, as everything is greyed out and it displays the message "This is not a true 1 to 1 copy of the image". So basically i've used schtrom and XBC 2.8. It's worked before but now for some reason it's not working on all my original games. It sees the 360 game though. Any assistance would be helpful guys.

Did you unlock the drive in the options on xbc?

that option is greyed out where it didn't used to be i've used XBC 2.6-2.8 and it still is shaded/greyed out. the drive recognized the game that i put in there and also tells me the size but won't let me back it up.

KREON V0.80 is what i have and yes i'm running xp pro SP3.

update your drive to v1.0

Ok i've tried upgrading my firmware on my SH-D163A KREON V0.80 to V1.0 and i keept getting ther error message" file not compatible with drive". And yes i downloaded the correct file. So i'm not sure if u can upgrade kreon firmware once flashed.maybe it's something i overlooked.but i followed this link to a tee..http://www.360mods.net/Forums/viewtopic/t=1192.html

where did you get the firmware

i recommend xbins

did you also try


put the folder in the root of you hhd

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Change directory to the folder where the kreon.
3. run this command sfdnwin.exe -nocheck.
4. All will be well.

For example. if the kreon firmware is in C:\Kreon

open command prompt

Type cd C:\kreon
Hit return
Type sfdnwin.exe -nocheck
Hit return.

That's it.

ok that worked until i clicked on download file in sfdwin then i got the error message "flash command failed" and then it locks up and the status tab just says "wait".

hmm ok so you put the downloaded folder in the root of your hard drive and ran
Type cd C:\kreon
Hit return
Type sfdnwin.exe -nocheck
Hit return.

then went in the folder and used sfdnwin and selected the firmware for the sh-d163a and ran it and still no luck

ok so i did a little research
if you have another computer try that

the problem is that your sata chipset isnt compatable
at the end of this form you will see

to fix this:
try another computer
get a diffrent sata card
or use an extrenal enclourser

make sure you have the latest version of x bins my did not work with the older one from the text book for some reason

and it didn't work so i would say to ethier try to use another computer a diffrent sata card or an external enclosure
