i have a movie in mkv format with h264 codec movie and ac3 auido and the resolution is 720p. i need to convert this, or just change the container, to a apple tv format like .mp4 .mov .m4v

ive searched the web for hours and got no where. i was wondering if theres a program like TsMuxer that would do this job quickly.

any help is appricated.

If you are not porting subtitels with it media coder is a rather easy/simple multi conversion program, its free to boot.

It dose not handle sub title files to well.

If all else fails you can rip the data steams out(vid, sound, ect) of the mkv file and mux them into a mp4.

Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

Subtitles arent really important here but what im trying to do is infact extracting the files from the mkv video and then mux them into a mp4 format that apple tv will play.

ive recently learned by trail and error that apple tv does not play High profile h264 coded videos (though i could be wrong),

so my question now is there a way to convert a HighProfile .h264 into a MainPorfile .h264

i know Megui does the job but it takes foooorrrrever, and the output quality sucks.

As far as i can tell MediaCoder and MeGUI are the same thing, though MediaCoder has a nicer look.

Anyway i figured out my problem, movies look great. Later i may write a guide on how to covert mkv to apple tv since i couldnt find one here.
