hey guys got my first rrod the other day just tried the xclamp fix and no luck.

question is if i go buy another arcade model will my flashed drive work in it?

so i could just open up the new xbox chuck in my old drive and play away?

or are they linked with a serial number to each board.. which i doubt but i wanna make sure before i go spending £130 on a new xbox.

Are you joking? The xbox haves to have the key for the drive for that xbox. Its like the drive is its baby and you cant just give it any baby. But the rrod is nothing to do with the drive anywase

yeh the rrod is cos of the gpu i've found now i need to just mod another box entirely. sucks -.-

i didn't realise the drive was linked to the board that's why i asked just in case turns out it was a good thing to ask.

If you get a new model xbox and your stuck with the non mod one, there is software out where you can at least get the key from the new drive and then you could swap drives by exchangeing reflashing your old drive with your new keys.

yeh that's cool. thing is i've got the benq drive in mine and every tutorial i've seen is for the hitachi one. so i'm a little worried about it. i've looked on a few sites and can't find anything about the benq flashing maybe i'm not looking hard enough.
