Update D2Pro with CD/DVD?

Hi, i have a D2Pro + Solderless Clip on my Wii installed and i'am pretty sure it has the latest firmware on it. But I want to make sure it has, so can anybody tell me how to update it? I've heard it can be updated by the D2Prog but i suck at soldering and i find it impossible since my chip is on a clip, so is another way like downloading the firmware and buring it on a cd and then run it through my Wii system. Thank You

1) I'm not totally sure on this but I believe that the ability to update from DVD was added to the D2Pro with a firmware update, so as silly as this sounds weather or not you can update the firmware depends on the firmware. lol

2) Your modchip doesn't need to be updated. All your game backups and homebrew should work perfectly regardless of the D2Pro firmware you're using.
