im not sure if my ps3 died on me right now, but it turned off and the light flashed red so i turned off my ps3 immediately! i tried to turn it back on and it flashed a yellow light and turned back off..... :( anyone know what happened???????

yellow light means hardware failure...could be the HDD that has died, try removing it and see if the PS3 boots.

The yellow light indicates hardware failure in general, hopefully its just the hdd so you wont have to pay sony to fix it.

i took the hard drive out and it still doesnt work....i have a warranty from best buy and it lasts all the way up to aug of 09 so hopefully they can fix it. do i have to give it to them with the hard drive in the ps3?

Yes, the original hdd has to be in it when you do a warranty claim.

you know whats crazy is i took it do bestbuy, got my brand new 80 gig, took out my 60 gig hard drive and walked away with a brand new game. god bless my saturday...
