Okay so I have the WiiKey installed and it does not see originals or backups. However, it sees the update disc as a gamecube game and goes to load, but when it does it then gives me a disc error and stops. I have checked the solder points and used a multimeter to check my signals. All seems to be okay. Any help?
Try different versions of Update or Config discs ... if possible change the Wiikey's Region setting.. see if that helps.

For some reason it was difficult to find other versions of the config discs out there. I ended finding 1.3, 1.4, and of course 1.9. When inserted all 3 show the gamecube logo on the wiichannel but when I start them it gives me the same disc error and asks me to reset. Also, when the chip is installed it still will not play originals (or backups). I am having the same problem on a second concole that was modified as well (wired using alternate points). Both chips were purchased together so I am still wondering if I hit a bad batch. I went ahead and ordered from a different site 2 new chips but there not here yet. Fingers crossed that this is the problem.
