Considering installing backup loader on unmodded wii

I am currently considering following the route of the Custom IOS and DVDx on my unmodded PAL wii. I am really on the fence as to whether to do it or not as I cannot afford to brick it. I pretty sure of what I am doing as I have a very good guide.

My question is, If I do it how likely is it that my wii will brick? And also Can I ever get back to how my Wii was orginally eg. can i run ever run nintendo updates again? or will it be screwed in event of new software updating it?

I hope someone can make sense of my questions.

You won't brick it.
But the loader is really, really shitty.

Not even worth messing with at the moment.

I disagree with elk1007. There is always a chance that your Wii can be bricked when installing any modification to the system.

As for future implications...

How would anyone know what future implications will be until new updates are released by Nintendo. Your always taking a chance when you do any modification to your Wii system.

So if your worried about what implications may come up then don't modify your system.

There is an installer but I think I read that it will keep bits and pieces of it still installed. There is no way to 100% uninstall it completely.
