i was looking at a closed forum about piracy and copyright protection isps stuff like that honestly:
1) 1 to me its home invasion when someone can scan ur computer and tell what u have on it (also wouldnt ur firewall tell u when thats happening and cant u block it)
2)From the way i understand it its NOT illegal to mod ur video game systems its against fcc regulations but its not a law on the books right?And furthermore it says right in ur manual of a game u buy that u are allowed 1 backup copy bc when u buy a game u get a lisence to make 1 backup copy says it ive seen it before.
3)Again correct me if im wrong but since its not illegal to make a backup of a game u own, even though copyright protected u still legally own a lisence to have a backup copy of the game right. So what happens to the people without the capabilities or knowledge (or dvd drive) but how exactly are u not allowed to download a game off the internet say through torrents(which bye the way are not for noobs i use all kinds of downloading sources and i still use torrents fast easy way to share something yeah downloading is not quite as fast but still very easy to make a torrent.
I hate when people think they can come in my house and tell me what to do cox internet or any other isp to begin with how do they know u dont own a copy of that game if it was me id fax em copy of the reciept for the game and say f u ,you cannot UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES tell me what to do with what i pay for regardless of any user agreement or anything like that especially if im not doing something illegal i pay for i pay towards ur copanies money ,employees ect.. its not rite nor fair for an isp to come into ur home and tell you what to do bc how do they know u dont own the game in question,it makes me sick thats how it is blocking web pages telling me we shouldnt allow bad langue in tv or video games being censored and banned dont u think we ALLL have more important things to worry bout. Or do u think the video game industry will go belly up? Are u serious Sony, Nintendo , Microsoft,publishing companies,develepors have set salaries and these copanies make billions u think they will care if u go belly up and dont have money when they over charge for thier products they gonna give it to you for free cuzz your broke all i gotta say is screw them if they dont like it bc i do it the legal way and im not gonna pay all that money if something were to happen to a disc that takes how much to make a piece to manufacture screw them if the video game industry goes(which its not anytime soon do u see all the video games out these days ru serious) screw all those companinies if they think im gonna buy multiple copys of thier games at crazy prices u ever see how much a used game costs at stores(not talkin bout internet stores) it sickens me and those isps trying to come into ur house next they will tell u we blocked all the porn bc kids use the internet bc people are too lazy or dumb to setup the vchip or parental blocking software (that comes with like every anti virus program, and vchip for every tv ) why should we all suffer and be told what to do.
ps: if the companies wanna come find you for downloading illegally then fine but isps dont have the rite and shouldnt have to waste thier time and money doing it when its not them posting the stuff on the internet thats how i feel take this thread down or whatever u want just gets me fired up when muti billionare millionare companies try to tell me what todo when i dont have a pot to piss in and they charge outrages prices for software
sorry for the rant but that issue really bothers me bc im going to school for video game design,progarmming, and web design and i dont even care if people download stuff anyone ever hear of word of mouth getting ur projects out there im sick and tired of these companies wining like there broke while a financial crissis is happen they still have millions if not billions want us to flip the bill f them and those ceos who lined thier pockets and screwed the rest of us over thx!!!
