i have nero 8. i use nero vision to burn avi files to dvd. I have been trying to get more creative with the menus that i make. I ran into 2 issues. I tried using the smart 3D menus that come with it and they dont navigate very well when in a dvd player. if u have 2 pages of chapters it will skip to the second page automatically and it re-starts the numbering on the next page at 1 again. This makes it so you can never select a chapter from the first page.

2nd issue - i figured out i could use a video file for the menu background instead of just a jpeg. SO i cut an avi file down to use as the menu background but when i burnt the disk there was no sound. I know there is a place to add sound, but i figured it would just pull the sound in from the avi file

any help is appreciated

To add the sound to the menu:

1) in the Audio drop-down; select Custom...

2) A navigation window will appear. Navigate to where your video file is located.

3) For supported files; select All Files *.*

4) Select the same video file you are using for the menu background.

The sound of the video will be added to your menu.

When you selected a video file for the background; Nero only uses the video portion; not the audio. You have to manually select the audio.

This is how I do it. I use Nero 8
