Dead Wii Drive - Repair Possible?

I decided to remove my D2CKey from my D2C wii dvd drive. I unsoldered all the wires and removed it without a problem, when i put the drive back in the console and turned it on the drive was dead.

Is there any hope of repairing this drive and where should i start?

when removing the key you probably messed up one of the legs. Not a good sign at all if you ask me. Dead drives could be returned to nintendo for a replacement drive. Since you have no mod chip installed i think they will replace it. They replaced my friends dead drive. You pay shiping and handling though.

Ive opened the console and theres old solder and burns on the drive itself, surely they wouldnt replace that?

There is a fuse you cab bypass. Try it, it may work.

they replace anything. My friend sent his in and they gave him a new drive. This is after i botched his wii with burns and stuff. Give it a shot the most that happens is they return ur messed up wii.
