I have a fat psp running version 2.71 I have a couple questions about downgrading.

1. Is there any easy way to do it like a download that does it for you? and if so could someone provide a link or a url?

2. If i downgrade my psp will i still be able to play my games and umd's?

3. Is there anything beyond downgrading that i need to do to my psp in order to run emulators?

Any help is much apreciated im a noob

1. Here is a guide
http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=563

2. Best after getting downgrading, is to upgrade to a custom firmware. Use this guide
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/616311

and yes, your PSP can do the same things as a PSP can do.

3. No, as long you know how to install it. What emu you want to run ?

its just below the guide. If you are having trouble use CTRL + F and type in the Generic Downgrader guide.

Extract the archive and copy all files inside of "MS_ROOT" to your memory stick drive. If asked to overwrite any files, click yes

How do i do this? Could you explain in detail?

I really dont want to brick my psp

Root is the main page in your memory stick. Open the folder and drag everything into the PSP

Ya so i tried both the manual downgrade method (the one you sent me to) and the easy downgrade download. No success with either. In the manual method when i go to the photo folder in the psp the new file is there but i never got the blue screen.. Should i keep restarting the psp until i get the blue screen or should i try something else?

then keep trying. Try this: Turn off the PSP, turn it again. Try to select the downgrader. Does it start? DO NOT INSTALL IF IT DOES STARTS

Thanks for your help so far man

2 questions: during the process when it says disconnect the usb does that mean physically disconnect it or, just to leave the usb connect within the psp menu?

also i have a brand new 4 gb memory card but right now im using the factory memory card (reformatting every time i attempt) would the new 4 gb memory card make a difference if i used it instead in the process?

1. Click O to exit the USB connection. Then you can remove the USB of the PC.

2. You can use any memory card to use the downgrader
