During play my 360 randomly clicks, now it doesn't cause any errors or problems, I just want to know what it is. I have a theory that its because of heat, but I've heard it when its not even on. For e.g. in the morning I just hear clicks every once and a while. But the sun is shining right onto it and the power brick is still on. So I dunno. I'll try get a video. Also while I'm hear when I put certain games in like GTA 4 and play them my xbox rattles a lot.
Hope someone can clarify the whole thing up for me thank you...

Yea, my xbox 360 told me in Morris code "Help Me!" So I took my 360 to a professional modder, and sadly I was told that my 360 is diagnosed RROD in its early stages. However, I paid $30 to undergo X-Clamp surgery and my 360 made it out alive. So thats what happen. Also, I got mad cuz one time it told me "Scratch!" and my disc got f-ed up.
None of my 360's have ever clicked like that when they were off. And it shouldn't be getting the power to click while it's off. I can understand the console clicking a little bit when it's cooling down, or while it's reading/writing to the hard drive. There should be nothing else that clicks in the xbox. If you look in that post it says the hard drive may be going bad, i'd check into it. Take the hard drive off and make sure it's not the drive that's clicking while the console is off.
The console does a lot of weird things that's unexplained. If you leave your controller plugged in with the play and charge cable it will run the fans and even spin the cd for some reason. This was how my elite mfr march 08 started developing freezing issues.
Thank you for all the reply's. I can rule out the HDD because, the clicks are coming from the middle of the console. But if Microsoft says its OK then its OK....
