Alright... So I just bought a new slidecard modchip (http://www.modchip-sbox.com/ps2-SlideCardSet.shtml), and I want to create PS2 backups because my two dogs and little brother keep destroying them. I also bought a few kinds of Rippers and Burners, including WinRAR, DVD decrypter, Smartburn pro, Alcohol 120%, CDRwin3, and Smart Ripper. Now here's the problem... I can rip and burn my old PSX games no problem, but i cant rip PS2 games. I'm supposed to rip through my CD burner drive, right? (i have two drives- a DVD drive and a CD-R/RW burner) Well, PS2 games are not accepted by my computer's CD-R/RW drive. It spits them out. When i try to rip with CDRwin3, it reads the disc for a while, then says "NO CD / CD not ready". DVD decrypter and SmartRipper say NO DVD. I tried ripping through my DVD reader "Invalid file type" but to no avail. Please help me!

almost all PS2 games are on DVDs.. You need to read them through your dvd rom drive, but since you don't have a dvd burner, you are stuck. You can get dvd burners off http://www.pricewatch.com for around $100.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Well see, the programs SAY that they rip through a CD-R/RW drive, and that they burn onto a single CD-R (somehow). Also, i tried to rip through the DVD drive, even though it says to rip through CD-R/RW, but it still doesnt work (see original post). Is there a recommended program? Is there a runthrough for ripping somewhere? Do i need to rip through a DVD burner? Those 100$ burners are sounding pretty good about now...

Realistictly you need a DVD burner. You then do a straight ISO copy unless the DVD is a DVD-9 dual layered. That gets more complicated.

Ok... So let's say I buy that $65 dvd burner off pricewatch. So I rip through the DVD burner, and then what? I'ts not going to be a .bin or .cue, so how do i do this ISO thing? Should I use Alcohol or DVD Decrypter or what? Finally, what DVD is really cheap that i can burn onto? Thanks muchly, guys
