I have problems instaling my Wii Key chip sice im missing a pin. I also have somthing blach over the other place i can have it. Pleache help me if you know how to chip this wii. Here is the pic

How about uploading the image to a free image hosting site like photobucket.

The only way to see your image is to sign up for facebook and I am not doing it.

But more then likely you will need to shave the chipset a little to reveal the cut pins and solder to them.

Ouch! Looks like you have the new Wii. Apparently they put that black plastic over the exposed pins to prevent modding. Good luck with that one buddy.

May be possible if you can get that black stuff off... but very hard to do. I hear there's a very good chance you can damage it doing so. But I'm no expert so don't quote me on that.

I mailed my wii in to get fixed and i got it fixed, but now it has that black crap on it. So, basically if there is anyway to mod this wii with the black stuff on it, please do share. THANKS.

You will need to get another chip than the Wiikey. The Wiikey will not work on a D2E with Epoxy. This is a very difficult mod to do as you will have to remove the epoxy which will possibly damage the IC chip in the process. So better to send it in to a professional.

Wow it does not seems that hard at all. But still it's nothing for the n00bs. You can still scratch off any nearby capacitors, resistors, or the IC legs themselves.

That Pyropen looked really neat lol. I think I need to invest in one for my future mods!

It doesn't look too bad if you know what you're doing, and even then it's a bit of work I would imagine. I've also read that the Wii-poxy (I made up that moniker) is much stronger than the Xbox's, can't say that I have any first hand knowledge though. ---Chikn
