This is how to make a working backup of Super Smash Bros. Brawl on a single layer (4.7Gb) disc.

I cannot provide any links to tools, as some of them are 'ish', so anything with a triple star must be Googled for.

Note: You need 3.2 firmware to do this.

1) Dump the full Brawl disc.
(check out this forums ultimate sticky for my other guide on how to dump games easily)

2) Open up the ISO with Trucha Signer***.

3) Extract any small video file from the folder with all of the movies (thp files). I used Toon Link's Clear Vid (End_Toon Link).

4) Now find all videos that are in Partition RSBE01 - > Root - > Movie.

5) Replace each file from 01-00 to 43-00 with the small vid you extracted. Some files will say something like:

"You can only replace the vid with one of equal or smaller size".

If one tells you that, just move on to the next one.
This takes about 15 minutes.

5) Once done with replacing the vids, open WiiScrubber***.
Scrub the ISO and then close the ISO (to finalize it if necessary).

6) Reopen the scrubbed ISO in Trucha Signer*** and right click each partition. Trucha Sign! both of them.

Now burn the ISO on a single layer DVD and it should work in your modded Wii. (Using ImgBurn at 4x)

Everything should work except for SubSpace Emissary (because you just botched all those vids in the name of space).
