The guys over at xbox-scene released a video recently showing a comparison of a game pre-loaded onto a harddrive and that same exact game running directly off of the cd. We had talked about load times earlier and how alot of people were stating that it would be so little of a difference that we wouldnt even notice on alot of newer games. The video test they did was of GTA and even though some of you may think that it is of no significance, it is alot more than I was thinking of after hearing all of the bad news about it. I think it is gonna be perfect for those 1 or 2 games we play all of the time. if you wanna see the video for your selft go check out the xbox-scene.
Yeah, same here with my 120. I watched that vid over on XS this morning and then went through the thread. I couldn't believe people were bitching about it.
People complain they can't play from the hdd, so MS gives us the option, and people still bitch.
I'm glad we're getting the option. At least this way my dvd drive and my Whisper Max won't be fighting to see who can be the loudest anymore. :)
one thing still comes in question; what about the people who only have 20gigs? for me, it's not a problem since my brother can get the 120 for cheap. that would be the most expensive thing, since we got the system and the 20gig for free.
if i could swap my 320gig scorpio black, i'd do it in a heartbeat.
I see alot of people Bitching about the update.I just want to know WHY,So what you don't have to use the option. Then I see people over at Xbox Scene were Bitching about the holiday bundle,Who cares about the games also trade them in if you don't want them.I am looking forward to this update as my drive speed is set lower,So I should be pretty happy with the speeds,as for the sound I won't benifet much as I have 12v fan mods so it sounds like a jet plane no matter what I do.
I think once that comes out, it's only a matter of time that modders figure out a way to load from your own HDD. I too have a 120GB so I guess it would be pretty cool.
Oh, and if you don't want to cough up $149 for a 120GB, you can buy just a 1200BEVS WD HDD, and just flash it with the firmware on the M$ Drives. I've still got that file too.
