It is terrible, the only thing I could compare it to is blasting music out of a set of broken headphones. Why is it poor quality, and how do I fix it? I've went through all the options and settings but I cant find anything for music.

Thanks in advance.

Hello mate.
For myself, streaming my MP3,s sounds top class through TVersity, but i do encode to top end MP3.
What bitrate do you encode at?
Have you got the volume option turned up to +2 on the PS3?
Have you set transcoding to N/A in TVersity?

I can't find those settings under tversity, I'm using the latest one 1.0 RC3. The only opion for transcoding looks like it has to do with video and not audio.

EDIT: I think I found the problem, I had optimization set to speed because I was trying to get a higher resolution video to stream, which didn't work out unfortunately. Slight brainfart on my part =\

While we're here are there any tricks to getting higher resolution videos to play, or is it just if it wont work it wont work?

I'm trying to stream 720p over a wireless N connection to a Gigabit connection to the ps3. My computer is a p4 2.0ghz with 1gig ram and a geforce mx4000. Is my computer too old to handle it? Because I can't even get 480p to stream without skipping I had to lower it to 300p.

Its your wireless mate, i had the very same problem and got so fed up with my vids stopping and atarting that i went out and bought the devolo av plugs.
They use your socket circuits to transmit your internet connection around your home, pretty darn handy.
My PS3 is still wireless, its only my PC that is hardwired to my router now, your comp is well able to handle your encodeS.
Streaming 1080p now for me is childs play, they are not cheap but cheaper than rewiring your house in CAT6.
The settings i refer to are found when you add, say a folder containing your files, under advanced options you can choose to transcode or not or when needed. ;-)

My basement is still just studs more or less so its just 40 bucks for a 50' length of cat6 to me, well plus $10 for a wall plate if I ever get the basement giprocked.

Wireless keeping seeming more and more pointless lately =\

My house, upstairs, is studded out, the router is only 5 metres as the crow flies, but its still enough to degrade the signal.
