Hi,
Just got my WII from a dealer (with mod chip)
First of all, it is semi-bricked, second i can't understand what version is it !
Presumably it is supposed to be PAL version, but when it starts - tv switches to NTSC, also on the bottom of it says C/RVL-USA which makes me suspect it to be NTSC version, however it plays gladly PAL games, and when i tried to give it the "un bricking" update - it took the PAL (but stayed semi bricked) and refused to read the NTSC version...

I'm going bananas here :( please help me at least identify it to know which version to try and un-brick !

thanks,
I've tried that - however - it seems that downgrade requires working network connection, and since i got my Wii in a semi-bricked state from the very beginning I never had a chance to configure the network...
Is there a downgrade version that works without a net ?

I think its not reading the disc probably cos u made da disc in a drive not compatible with wii. Try making the DVD using LG or Sony DVD burner and burn the DVD at 4X and not faster. This happened to me as well when I tried a DVD burnt at 8X.

u can find the ISO image at :

OMFG ! You are a genius !!!!!!!
I took the "non working" NTSC-U system menu update disc (as i said the console was refusing it) opened it with trucha (was a bit of a bummer to search for the common key so it would decrypt the partition but i found it in the end), extracted the system menu wad.
now all I had to do is install it with wad manager, and voila !!!!!!
It's fixed !!!!

Thanks !!!!
